It was the first time I've really painted a model with two (drastically different) light sources - also the first time I've painted a hand (I've drawn quite a few). It went alright, but I think that I can do much better - was a great learning experience. I owe a lot of thanks to Marge and Alyssa for granting me so much time in Tony's class. Next week, I'll continue on at home and try to knock out more paintings for the NY show. Late.

not much

really changed from the previous day - overall, I was happy with it. The only adjustments were some slight chroma shifts in the forehead and a few highlights added to the dreadlocks. Now, I just need to wait a few weeks and varnish it (a lot of dried in spots at the moment). Late.

I've signed it. I technically still have some time tomorrow to work on it, but I'm satisfied (at the moment - that might change when I sit down in the morning). I've also got the afternoon to try and close up the Raven painting. Late.

adjustments - I'm not even sure if you'll really be able to see the difference at this point (that, and I worked in the shadow, which didn't come out particularly well in this image). I do still have a few more areas to work on, so check back (at least Friday to see it completed). Late.

sculpting into the base, trying to modify some of the structure - more of that tomorrow. Sorry to say that I have no updates with the Raven painting (Tony demonstrated for us this afternoon), but on the bright side, the sun was out, so I was able to work on Sadalsuud. Late.

Fortunately, I have plenty of time to go back into things. My mind certainly was cloudy - synonymous with the weather = won't be able to work on Mercia's portrait this evening. Late.

The painting is progressing - my plan is to lay in the dark side and the reflected light tomorrow. I doubt that will take the whole session, so I'll probably tweak the contour as well... or go back into the highlights on the cheek. We'll see. Late.
